Some pet treats — pig ears and beef hoof products have been recalled for risk of Salmonella. These types of products are at high risk of exposure to unclean conditions during packaging. Dogs of course are able to tolerate much larger portion of different types of bacteria, these items distributed both in bulk and different brand packaging. While these treats can be dangerous to dogs due to Salmonella, humans digestive system is much more susceptible, and the person feeding their pet the treats could easily be exposed. It is very important for people to wash their hands after handling these types of treats.
