Demodicos is more commonly known as mange and is caused by demodex canis a genus of parasitic mites. The mite occurs naturally in the hair follicles of most dogs in negligible numbers. Similar to other dog skin disorders, mange presents itself when a dog is suffering malnutrition, impaired immune system, and or stress. Dog health in a weaken state allows the mites to reproduce rapidly, causing hair loss and severe skin inflammation.
